It is amazing that it took so long to gain the rights that we are losing so quickly!

@samueltyler2 I think because with a system like capitalism that is set up to remove all socialist type programs and pander to corporations and rich, it is a harder fight for progressive policies and human welfare programs because they work entirely against the capitalist process and therefore struggle to get any ground.
Top that with the fact that our national work ethics are based off protestant that insist that we are here on earth to suffer and toil for god with no complaints, there is no ethical standing to allow kindness and compassion to those who find themselves unable to meet the expected goals of capitalism. Those people are immediately called failures and lazy people without any issues of morals being abused.
America's system was never actually built for the people. It was built for the elite who never had to worry about being humanitarians because the systems don't require that.
