About Me
Fell from the top of a 12' ladder and severely destroyed my Right leg, concrete is very unforgiving. After 2 yrs. of unsuccessful reconstructive surgeries, an Osteo Myelitis infection set into the leg. It became impossible to control and started to spread rapidly into my thigh. I was faced with the decision to have to call the shots and make a life changing choice. The leg was amputated about 4" above the knee in order to clear out the infection. Have not made up my mind if it was worth proceeding with the surgery to this day. I not only lost my leg, but I lost track of friends as they moved on with their lives. I was forced to have a 28 yr. marriage end as the Ex moved on also, was it worth it or not?
Oh well, too late now to change minds or opinions! When I regain the ability to walk, I think I'm going to move onto a steep hillside out in the country. Someplace where I will be able to wake up, go outside and stand up straight on the side of that hill! It will not be a problem with one leg being 3' shorter than the other.
I'm glad I did not loose the ability to make fun of myself, it is kinda fun untill I get on a roll. And I also was made aware of a very important fact. Its not the fall that will get you...........its that sudden stop at the bottom! :bd Now I guess I need to get used to being single again. (Y) Thats a whole lot of remembering I have to do now! :?
