I Am Looking Forward To A New Beginning And A New Life

My marriage is over. My soon to be ex husband has already moved on and found "the woman of his dreams". I've learned a lot through these years. Marriage takes work, and both people need to be willing to do it.

Two important lessons I've learned:

(1) communication is HUGE!! No matter what it's about, what you're feeling... say it! Otherwise the other person can misinterpret which can cause resentment.

(2) Never stop dating your spouse. Never assume they know how you feel and never get so comfortable that you neglect them. We all want that romance and connection to last.

I've learned more but those two stood out for me. This is a life changing experience. I will persevere though.

You are so right on both aspects. I divorced after 20 years of marriage myself. I am now engaged to an amazing wonderful man who is my best friend and lover. there isn't anything I cannot tell him!!!

Good luck in your next chapter in LIFE!!!!

So awesome to know that can happen! May I ask how long it took you to find your new love?

You have to let go first before you can move on. Comparing everyone to another is wrong and will only keep from finding true happiness. This is just my opinion.

@TenderHeart: I divorced in 2012 and we met in 2014. Me actually met on an online dating site. I could not be happier in life!!!!!

Good luck and reach for the stars, show him your better and stronger without him.you may feel lost for a lil while but in time you will reestablish your ground and be ok..and down the road you will probably have the satisfaction of seeing him at the bottom realizing that woman wasnt the "woman of his dreams"

Good luck with your new life. =) I am in the middle of a divorce too, and it is scary to face such huge changes. Your advice is excellent. I would say that the things you mentioned are 2 of the biggest reasons why my marriage failed.

Good luck to you too!! I think it's big for all of us, just most people don't realize it until it's too late :(

wish you all the best, personally i hate divorce, and like to live together until death

Sometimes that isn't possible.

I don't think anyone particularly likes divorce. I wish things could be different... but it is what it is.

Thank you for sharing what you've learned through much pain.

You're welcome. I'm hoping it can help someone else to know they are not alone....and maybe even help too.

I am sure it will. My ex-wife was a serial cheater while I was away on business trips. Though painful, many things as a result have made a positive impact in my marriage now.
