I Love Taking Selfies

I managed to "borrow" a camera from school to try and match my father's photography standards but I don't think I have the same talent sadly. :/ xxx

Not bad, but it depends on what you were aiming for... When you say you "don't think I have the same talent" as your father, you mean on the technical level or on the artistic level? Technique can always be learned, and the artistic part, well, it depends what you want to convey/communicate... I don't see anything wrong with this pic, technically, although there's nothing dramatic about it from an artistic perspective. Some people might object that it's "too colorful" by today's minimalist preferences, but in the 1960s photographers liked that richness of colors... What I mean to say is: you are the one who set the standards you want to achieve... it's never a matter of trying to emulate your father or anyone else, unless you really like some else's style...

It’s nice, I was expecting your feet to be popping up at the back there, that would have made this shot a million times better
SW-User
@SW-User Lol. They were in the shot a bit but its nothing special so I cropped it down x
SW-User
@SW-User the feet add everything to the photo, it makes that childlike look so much more stronger. Would look awesome! Do you have the original one still? Would really like to see it and I’m sure others would too x

Whoa, you look just like Jennifer Aniston! 😮

@SW-User awww thank you so much. I love her in Friends x

@SW-User No problem! I love Friends, too. I have a bunch of episodes on DVD.

A little too much colour saturation for my taste but the subject matter the pose the depth of field and the expression are excellent. I hope you aren't discouraged. Considering it's a borrowed camera you did a great job.
Looks nice! Read Ansel Adams' series, The Camera, The Negative and The Print. Keep shooting 📷️ 😎

I like it. Maybe a little too bright but keep practicing.
SW-User
@SageWanderer I know :/ I will try but I'm gonna have to hand in the camera soon before they realise its gone

@SW-User It was hard for me to go from film to digital. Since film could be expensive to develop I always looked for the perfect shot. Digitally you can just delete bad shots.
pretty good job either way.
@stound what kinda gear did you get? and how did you manage to shoot without a remote? or who's in the frame?
SW-User
@stound Just a Panasonic Camera with a timer and my backpack xxx
@SW-User ahh. well good job.
AllAboutLaffs · 70-79, M
If you took this shot with a timer, you did a great job !! Keep shooting !!

You've successfully recreated a 1970's shampoo ad.
