I Love Reading Books

A few days ago, I was sitting in a doctor's waiting room reading a mystery. I was engrossed in the plot and characters that I didn't hear my name being called. Has that ever happened to anybody on here?

It was a bit embarrassing. When I realized it was me being called, I gathered my things and went to where the nurse was. Hoping, the people waiting in lobby won't be there after my appointment. I crossed my fingers wishing, but with my luck I won't be so lucky.

Funny thing though, after arriving home, I got all comfy in the soft big chair to see how the lead character managed through her dilemma. Oh, the mystery behind mysteries stories.

When I went into the docs office, I was thinking they were smiling at me. And they were smiling at someone behind me... I had a big grin on- felt silly~
I think they have other things on their minds & forget :)

Yes it has. I love to read and I get totally immersed in my books.
I have had that happen - I was mortified - I also thought they were calling me and they called someone else with the same name
