About Sweden (Stockholm) yesterday.
Today the reminder sunk in, yesterday I felt numb before it and ended up writing a text about the first time - I was 12 on 9/11 2001 - a text that I then kept unpublished.
What: I read late last night about a truck driving into people on Drottninggatan (Queen's Street, main shopping street), Stockholm.
I didn't feel like I usually do about such things. Was I numb?
No. I remember that I usually freeze in time a little just to remember and be awake about it when terrorism happens, because yes it was a terror attack.
9/11 2001 was for me a mixture of a fight against hormones and a try to grow up. But I still froze in time a little when the first tower fell...sorry, America, I shouldn't compare with me.
I'm not saying this time in Sweden they managed, but they did. The truck's driver was from Uzbekistan, they took him in late yesterday. 2010 a suicide bomber killed only himself because the home-made bomb didn't work. That was in December, this time they were in perfect timing again because alot of people was in movement.
