There is a place for it for as the saying goes "out of chaos comes order". But at one meeting this past week almost everyone started talking at the same time, trying to talk over other people which caused others to try to be heard which in turn cause others to try to be heard. It got a bit testy at several points and we had to take a couple of breaks which dragged the meeting out.
What was scheduled to be a two-hour gathering wound up running just under four and a half hours.
This picture delivers a good depiction of what it looked like.

Sounds like it could have used a Sergeant at Arms. Preferably one with a LOUD voice that can project over the chaos. A Sergeant at Arm's job is to keep order. It is a job I am very suited for.

There were already too many loud and clear voices ranging from bass-baritone to cannons to screeches. Thanks
I could have made myself heard over them. I can guarantee it. I am a singer with a very loud voice and I can project to the back of a theater. And if they wouldn't pay attention I can handle that as well.
