I Finally Understand

the mentality of "If you don't like America, get out"

It's because the people that want to make the US like other countries, they have other countries to go to. Where am I supposed to go when you change everything I like about where I live? There is nowhere else like the US left.
SW-User
People who say that are being callous. Even the premise is flawed. A criticism, a suggestion for how this country could change for the better doesn't mean you "don't like America". That's said by people who have one idea of how this country should be and therefore anyone who disagrees must hate the nation, rather than considering that they want to make it better because they like it and don't want to leave.

@SW-User but did you consider them? That what they want is what they see as better and that since it's easier for a person to move than for another person to find unclaimed land and build a nation from nothing, it's kinder in turn and more efficient.
SW-User
That would be a completely fair argument if the U.S. didn't work to destroy other nations

@SW-User That has nothing to do with what I like so I'm still gold

@Jackaloftheazuresand 👀
Don't other people have things they like?
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
@SW-User Yes but I don't think most in this group hold that as the thing they like

But everything changes.

Progress is inevitable.
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
@Miram I don't see it as progress and even though it's a reality that things change, they only change because people are trying to change them

@Jackaloftheazuresand They also change when you don't. They can get worse.
