During the wet season, this scorpion was on a search for the breeding grounds. Since it is rainy during the wet season, a river had formed along the way back to the homeland. Although the river is softly flowing, it is very wide and flowing too much for the scorpion to last crossing it alone.

Fortunately, the scorpion spots a frog that was swimming along the surface, searching for insects along the water.

"Hey frog! Come here, please! I need help crossing the river! I would like to ride your back to get to the other side," said the scorpion. "No way!"

"You're going to sting me if I come too close to you!" said the frog. "It's what you do!"

It was true. The scorpion has powerful venom that will kill many things, including frogs. The scorpion reasons with the frog, "Why would I sting you if I need you to cross the river?"

The frog thinks about this and then extends a trust to the scorpion. "I will take you across if you promise not to sting me."

"I promise," said the scorpion.

The frog comes to the river bank and allows the scorpion to climb on its back.

The two begin crossing together and in the middle of the river, the scorpion stings the frog on its back. "OW!" says the frog. "What have you done?? You told me you wanted to cross to the other side! Why did you sting me? We're going to die here, now! You promised me!"

"It's what I do." Said the scorpion

And in the middle of the river, the scorpion and the frog sank together. The frog had died from the poison and the scorpion drowned to the water.

There is an analogy that I have heard that matches this story well:
A snake sheds skin many but will always be a snake
