I Am Cold

any suggestions on how to keep my flat warm on a budget? It is one of those kinds of tower blocks built in the middle of England in the 60s out of desperation for housing the poor so it doesn't retain heat well (the average temperature in the warmest room- the living room- is typically around 14 degrees c in the winter), has an old school immersion boiler tank thing and storage heaters that drink electric like an alcoholic drinks vodka. thanks in advance

I grew up in old, draughty, uninsulated houses!
Top tips -
Blu-tac tin foil behind radiators to stop the heat being absorbed into the walls.

Insulated curtains over windows and doors help keep out draughts and prevent heat being lost. Draught excluders are good for this too.

If possible, heat just one room and keep the door closed. Uses less energy than trying to heat the whole place.

Carpets, rugs, mats, etc help to insulate the floor and keep the chill out. You can stick flattened cardboard boxes underneath to add insulation.

Wrap up warm!!! 🙂
