You should stay away from gays and atheists or they'll drag you down with them 💀😤

Imagine being told that in today's world. Happened to me last year when some weirdo tried to convince a family member of mine that I have a secret gay account on FB 😅 I did write a post about the whole situation. I'll see if I can find it.

3 minutes later : a throwback to July 2020 👇

Do u have freedom of religion and expression in your country?
Miram · 31-35, F
@Nanori No
@Nanori Only in the constitution. In real life it's very different. If you're Muslim or Christian you're fine but try being Atheist and you lose also if you convert from Islam to Christianity you'll face a lot of hate and if you do the opposite of course you get all the support.
Another situation an Atheist was actually arrested by the police so they keep him safe from all the threats he recieved from the cute religious Muslims.

@PiecingBabyFaceTogether The constitution doesn't protect atheists' freedom of expression. Atheists need asylum if they criticize religion.

You can be an atheist in Egypt but you aren't legally allowed to criticise Islam

@Miram @PiecingBabyFaceTogether
I see, thank you
So you're legally allowed to change your religion but will face consequences from the society?
Miram · 31-35, F
@Nanori And will get jailed if you talk bad about Islam or even argue for LGBT rights. And will legally be forced to divorce a Muslim partner as an atheist even if she too chooses to be an atheist, and your kids taken away.

A lot of this happens, they just don't talk about it.

There is a case of a student who got kicked out of university for speaking for LGBT rights, they figured out he is an atheist. He is now living in the hiding from the police because he was charged with Fitnah. He isn't allowed to leave through the airport and is applying for distant asylum (while in the hiding)

The professor whom he argued with is the one who told the authorities on him. So it's both social and legal.

You can be an atheist but you need not be vocal
@Nanori Exactly yes but again only 2 religions, if you want to become Baha'i or Jewish good luck with that.

@Miram
. And will legally be forced to divorce a Muslim partner as an atheist even if she too chooses to be an atheist, and your kids taken away.
what the fuck.....
I like how when they lose an argument they just go BAM and slam you with a lable that will get u in srs trouble

@PiecingBabyFaceTogether I see I see, bahai is a forbidden rligion here, they either force them to convert or leave

@Nanori Yes, they are forced to divorce or the atheist man especially will get jailed.

The pitiful thing in the case of the student who is currently in hiding is that all he did with argue the genetic factor in homosexuality. That all he did, he publicly argued in a course with the professor for heredity..there is no freedom of expression.

Some Muslim countries get a pass for human rights violations and aren't discussed because western governments have strong and good relationships with them. It's hypocrisy.

Talking about these issues have to be anonymous or through/by acquiring privileges and guarantees first that can protect you from the unfair consequences and this applies all over.

Oh boy it's horrible, at least here it's all forbidden so you know for sure you won't be safe doing any of that 😅
Miram · 31-35, F
@Nanori that's true, these weird laws make it pretty tricky to walk between the lines.
