I Like a Challenge

I'd like for people to have a real heart to heart about what they 'believe' and why. First about what it is they believe about life and second if they truly believe it or are just repeating words and thoughts of other people's beliefs and words.

I mean I'm about to throw in the towel about every single thing I was ever taught learned on my own and start over completelly from scratch.

I think it would be hard for me think about any original thoughts of mine, or to justify them. It's kinda like imagining a new color. It's been showed by science that some animals are able to see more colors than humans, but we can't possibly emagine them. With that said, I think the colors I'm able to see are all theories I've been exposed to so far, and I only adapted them to my life and try to make sense of them.

I totally agree. I've realize there's no adapting to the 'stories' and trying to make sense of them. That's why they're called stories. Would you agree?

@Justpeaceandlove: I think it makes sense, cause even if people "adapt" them, the core and the aim remains the same, and they end up having the same effect. I'm not sure if that's what you meant though.

@MrMarcus: yes so why be attached to stories at all. Because in my mind one 'thinks' they have to. When the mind is open to new ideas or different ways of 'seeing' stories change. They're just stories. We all have them. I didn't much like some of the stories from my childhood or some that others tell. Changing them keeps me from falling into the trap of believing them. :)

@Justpeaceandlove: I agree with you. Sometimes we overestimate their value. As you said, they are just stories.

@MrMarcus: Minds are funny. We actually believe what is put in them until we stop believing. I choose to believe we have the power within us to create new stories that bring goodness to life.

@Justpeaceandlove: I've decided the same a few years ago, even though I recognize that the stores I've been told still play a big role in my life.

@MrMarcus: yeah... it took me a while to stop believing other peoples stories. It's a process. David R Hawkins suggested we give up stories. It becomes easier as we decide if we're going to or not. Giving up anything requires commitment time and energy. One day at a time. One moment at a time. When you feel the need not when others tell you too. Children are not easily controlled these days. A lot of them aren't easily manipulated as were those in the past. Each generation becomes stronger and stronger.

@Justpeaceandlove: I would say it's certainly one of the most hard experiences of my life, but it's thanks to it that I'm living the life I have now, which I see as being better. We like to attach our notion of self worth and identity to the stories we've been told, I suppose that's why it's do hard. It's just awesome to realize that we are more than that, we have always been more than that.

In today's world, children have a lot more freedom to decide for themselves how they are going to see life. I think it's a positive change.

@MrMarcus: I do too love. I encouraged my children who are now adults to think for themselves. They've had their trials but come out of each one a understanding.

@Justpeaceandlove: even though I'm not a parent, I can imagine how hard it is for a parent to have their children to go through a different path they'd expect. So that's very courageous of you, I must say.

@MrMarcus: thank you. I think it's the most natural thing to do but hard when your head is filled with stories that are not true. :)

@Justpeaceandlove: you're welcome :))
