I Believe White Privilege Exists Sadly

I come from country where there might be one non white out of 150,000 white.

I recently learned that some Americans believe in white privilege and it makes me laugh hard.

If anything it is minority jealousy or minority laziness.

My question to them though is. Would you rather have white privilege or affirmative action.

Pick carefully comrades.

There is white privilege just as there is male privlage. It's as simple as that. Though it is complex and entwined with history so it's easy for people to dismiss it out of ignorance. Simple examples are legion however.

The average black man does not have the opportunity of an average white man.

Why? Generational poverty and stigma. Lack of family safety nets. Redlining in housing. Mass incarceration. The list goes on and on.

But they're poorer because they don't work as hard right? That's been the go to line in America and it's simply false. Opportunity here has NEVER been equal, so that's a fuckin joke.

The years after slavery were atrocious, especially in the south. Institutional racism is still only a fact and byproduct of the horrors.

Imagine if that boogie man were real like the NKVD were?

Is the use of racial slurs in this very post not evidence enough? A word originally intended to dehumanize so whites can find it easier to rape and lynch and it's still thrown around without a hint of regret. You don't have to look far into American history to see it. Plainly. If you don't, you just don't want to.

@MildlyMagiclessMinotaur comrade just ask any person of Slavic decent about racial slurs. The entire notion behind the slur “slav” is of slave decent.

And don’t give me the oppression lecture. 1917 through 1990 has exactly been happy fun time.
