I Want a Better Job

During lunch today a few of my co-workers and I were discussing policies of other work places. A friend of ours works for a firm that gives 1/2 of its employees off on Friday, and the other half work for 1/2 day. Each week they switch. They're allowed to have beer in office, unlimited vacation, (as long as it's not abused), birthdays off, weekly meetings on personal lives and some other perks that I thought were really interesting. She also said that the employees work really hard. I bet they do. I would feel inclined to work harder for my employer too for that much incentive. It's the little things, like the above, that set the really good employers apart from the ones that don't care about boosting office morale. Think it may be time to find a new job...
Exactly, if you have opportunity, find a better job and better company before you're stuck with it.

@Stereoguy- seems to be the direction a lot of newer companies are going. They strive to keep the employees happy, with the understanding that happy employee means hard working employee. The firm that I am talking about is ranked one of the top places to work for in my state. It also has the quickest expansion rate. It's a proven method of operating a business.a

No, not just because of Fridays. My work place doesn't care about its employees, at all. It's us against them. It's been that way for all of the years I've been here. I'm old enough to not fall for the, "grass looks greener". Sometimes, it really is.

That is not true. If it were, then places like what I mentioned wouldn't exist. It's about not settling.
