I Am An Introvert

What is it with these misconceptions of introverts? A relative argued that I wasn't an introvert because I was adventurous when I was four (about seventeen years ago and many kids are adventurous)and had moments throughout my life where I "broke out of my shell." "Introvert" does not mean "antisocial, underachieving hermit." Introverts can be adventurous, bold, and motivated just like extroverts. We don't hole up in our homes all day everyday unwilling to socialize, improve, and challenge ourselves. This happens every time I say I am an introvert. Sorry, but I am an introvert whether you believe me or not.

I'm an introvert. I'll go to parties, have fun with friends, but there will be points when I "disappear", no one is able to find me. Then someone will find me in my truck and wonder if I'm allright. Of course, it's just being around so many people for extended periods of time will drain me and to recharge, I remove myself from the outer world. that's my perspective

I definitely believe you because I am an introvert. It does not mean I don't enjoy socializing or being around people. To me it means I'm a deep thinker and I also feel deeply, and I don't mind being alone.

Good self analysis. You just can't accept what anyone says.

@pfuzylogic The people don't know what introversion is. There are lots of misconceptions about it. I'm very introverted, but I like to socialize here and there and go out. We recharge when we are alone and don't get bored easily, for the most part.

I totally get that, an area of comfort and relaxation, others might consider it boring and can't appreciate the what is offered.

from what I read, as an introvert, is that it's about where and how we recharge and get our energy from. seems to make sense to me.

introverts are also humans
