I Believe Somethings Have to Be Believed to Be Seen

My family has two months left before we're homeless. Yeah, that is huge! It takes one month to sell a house, so really, we have one month before we are being forced out of our home.

You see, my dad got screw'd over by the government. A department branch decided to play politics, go on a witch hunt, and screw over other families like mine. They forced my dad to resign as deputy director in a special intelligence agency under a wild accusation. They targeted him because of his status, and what screams validation louder than bringing down a person of high degree.

We are/were a wealthy family and my parents worked their asses off to get there! They literally went from rags to riches. Now, it seems we're going back to rags once their retirement runs out in late February or early March.

It's disheartening to hear them both talk about it. They're terrified and I can see my mom on the verge of tears. But, the funny thing is I am not afraid.

When you can look at the rising odds in the face, and smile, that's faith. I see this for what it is: a test. I looked my mom square in the eyes, smiled, and told her, "Y'all are so silly! You taught me to trust and put my faith in God. That He is the major player in our affairs. Is that not true?

I'm not afraid, even if we only have one cent left in your savings. We've done all that we can. Dad has been actively waiting. The rest is out of our control and we wait for Him."

She smiled. Then she frowned and said, "I don't want to be like Job."

"We aren't Job!"

She left without hearing a word I said. It's funny though, when you have to remind your parents who's in charge. She may have not listened, but when things turn out better than before, I get the satisfaction of saying, "I told ya so."
