I Am a Stepmom to Be

My girlfriend/partner is a few years older than me and has a daughter from a previous marriage. She’s great, actually, but if you’d asked me three years ago if I could ever imagine myself being any kind of parent—much less helping raise a soon-to-be teenager—I’d have laughed myself silly. But here I am, helping a middle-schooler study for her algebra final, and she just slipped up and called me “mom” and I have [i]all the feelings.[/i]
