I Believe We Can Be What Ever We Want To Be

Don't buy the lie that you could never have the body you want.

I am definately not saying you should hate your body. You should love yourself for who you are. However, loving yourself doesn't mean accepting everything as it is. We are given the power to change aspects of ourselves, especially our physical bodies. The truth is, you could be slim, you could be more ripped, you could have a higher level of fitness.

You might have a slower metabolism than I have, but you still metabolize. This means that you can lose weight. The human body is an efficient system. Very good at storing energy and at adapting to changes in environment and lifestyle. Unfortunately it is geared to store more energy than we would like to in the form of fat. Fat is essential to good health and gives us a energy store and helps keep us warm. However, like so many things in life, it is good in moderation. We don't want too much body fat...or at the other end, too little. Our bodies metabolize at different rates, burning energy and building and burning fat at different rates. But to say that you can't lose weight because you have a slow metabolism is a blatant lie. You can, it just takes a little longer and a little more discipline.

The truth is if you really want to be slimmer you can be. It is hard and takes dedication and very much within the realm of possibility. How close you are to your goals depends on how dedicated you are. If you eat a balanced diet on a slight deficit of calories you will lose weight. If you work out and exercise on a regular schedule you will build up your physical stamina and endurance and you will lose weight. It depends on whether it is worth more to you to avoid working out and eating whatever you want or to have the body you want. Results are so often directly related to how much we want it and how much we are willing to sacrifice to get it.

For me having a very high level of fitness is important. So my primary motivation for working out is to be strong, fast, and have enough endurance to compete as a varsity athlete and an endurance biker. But it doesn't come easy for me. I have had to work long and hard to achieve and maintain this level of fitness. And you could too. If you are working out too look good, that is fine. But you will find that as a result you feel better too, higher energy levels and better sleeps. How much do you want it?
