I Live In America

Sometimes, I believe the U.S. government should stop spending billions of dollars in foreign aid to other countries. Especially since that money doesn’t always get to those who are in need of aid. Instead, the money should be used to fix the issues the U.S. has first.

That's the simplistic view... Foreign aid is obviously not just a "humanitarian" thing... it's a good-will gesture that seeks to open the doors of a potential market for (in this case) US products, or getting (not to say "buying") allies for other causes... Now that the US is retreating from the global arena with a myopic and clueless foreign policy, guess who is stepping in with "foreign aid" and thus will reap all its benefits? China... They're all set. The US has surrendered any influence it once had. Way to Make America Great Again. Pathetic.

I was kind of heart broken when the Australian government slashed our foreign aid. You don't need to be rolling in cash to help out other people.

The money should be left in the hands of those who generate it in the first place. Cut taxes!!!!
