I Feel Like a Loser

Sometimes...... There are times I just feel like a complete loser, and it isn't because I do not accomplish things. It's because of my anxiety. I make friends, and then watch them go, I wish I could just seize the day, sometimes, and try something new. Who cares if I am alone doing it, I just need to get out and experience. Experience what life has to offer, what close friendship, a better paying job, anything out there has to offer because it must be something better than staying in the darkness of my room. I know I have a family that loves me, but they are all 30 to 40 years older than me who just enjoy telling me what I don't know. Life must have other things to offer... I just do not want to feel this way anymore

Don't feel bad about yourself. Feeling insecure and anxious isn't unusual for someone your age. When you think about all the big projects you want to finish, you might be overwhelmed, and thus never take the first step out of fear of failure. What may help you, is to focus on accomplishing little things, which will boost your confidence. For example, your goal may be to read self improvement books for an hour a day. That may sound impossible at first. What you can do is start out by reading 10 minutes a day, then gradually working up to an hour. The benefits will be manyfold. You will have developed the discipline of reading every day. You will have expanded your base of knowledge and begun to question the circumstances of your life by reading self improvement books. And, you will feel a sense of accomplishment because you achieved and finished something, even something as minor as reading every day.
If I may, I'll suggest that you read The Art of Non- Comformity by Chris Guillebeau (not sure about the spelling of his last name ). It's a thought provoking book that I wish had been published when I was your age. Even if you don't agree with what he says, it will certainly get your wheels turning.
Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.
