Asserting Dominance

Another kid was yawning at school, so my son stuck his finger into the kid's mouth. He got in trouble. The teacher asked why he would do something like that, and he said he was asserting his dominance.

So your child’s a bully ? That’s who feels the need to “assert dominance”.

@bijouxbroussard They're friends. He was just playing around with him.
@Spruce Did the other kid know that ? You said he got into trouble.

@bijouxbroussard Yes, they've been friends since kindergarten. "Asserting dominance" is probably something he heard on YouTube or something. They both laughed, and he got in trouble because they disrupted class.

@bijouxbroussard My son is not a bully. I would not allow it. He's been bullied before. That's really insulting.
@Spruce Ah, okay.
Good. Some parents are actually proud of that sort of thing. 🙁

@bijouxbroussard I was bullied for years, even by teachers. It's very important to me that my son treats others with respect and kindness.

I have a lot of respect for you, so that's why it upset me. I should've been more clear. @bijouxbroussard
@Spruce Clearly I misunderstood the context. I’m sorry. 🙂
