I Have a Son

He's 21 years old. I met his dad when I was 16. We hung out for a week while I was on vacation and I never saw him again. Months down the road i found out I was pregnant. I couldn't tell him cuz I didn't know his last name. It was a weird last name and hard to pronounce so I didn't put it to memory. It was very difficult when people would ask about his dad and it was hard for my son always wondering who he is. We found his dad today! I told my son to be prepared if he decides to reject him but he didn't and said he can't wait to get to know him and have a relationship with him.

What an incredible story, I loved every detail about it, I am blown away, good for all of you!
I was afraid this story might be without a happy ending, as is the case many times.
So happy for you, and especially your son. The ties to your father, with an acceptance into his life, and his acknowledgement as a part of you, are vital even into adulthood.

The very best for your future. Congrats on the ancestry DNA.
Oh thats nice - But I have to say you did all the work of raising him and spending money on him. Now out of the blue she shows up - thats weird.
@morrgin Glad for your son & you.

@morrgin Do you mind my asking what DNA kit it was? I was adopted and would love to find my biological father!

Good job tracing the DNA
😳 Wow, that's strange....how did you finally get to trace that fellow after so many years?
@morrgin WOW!! That is a BEAUTIFUL story...God bless you and your family reunion! I'm so happy for you....🥺

@Vivaci now my son doesnt have to have an empty space on his birth certificate and you have no idea how hard it was to find a baby book that I could modify so it left out info about the dad. Then there were be the times someone official would look at the birth certificate and say over and over really loud "you mean you don't know who the father is?! Let me get this straight, (then they get louder) you don't know who the father is?"
Sometimes they kept going. Everyone would stare and I swear I was shrinking getting shorter.
@morrgin I know that stigma.....I mean I can only imagine how unbearably painful it must have been for you and your son over these past 17 years to answer to such questions...and inquisitive people just dont stop asking...and repeating the same story again and again must have been so mentally exhausting to you, isn't it? 🥺🤗

Well, think of it as one long nightmare....
Glad you were able to track him down and that he took well to it.

I keep thinking about finding my bio father. Maybe someday.
