I Watched Nixon Resign

In the "Nixon" movie (Oliver Stone) the boy Nixon said to his mother "Just think of me as your faithful dog".

She was nuts. He was worse.

What do you think of that?

Did your history teacher try to get you to love him?

In this photo I can almost feel SORRY for this mad-hatter ex-potus. Not like the monster in office now, that one just needs to be turned into the Kafka- cockroach he really is and then crushed under our feet.

No - I was in elementary school when it was happening, and our teachers didn’t talk about it at all.

My parents were Republicans (I think they brought the wrong baby home from the hospital when I was born, ha ha.) But they were also cautious in the answers that they gave me when I asked questions about it. They never discussed the specific wrong things he did, and why they were wrong. But they also didn’t act like he was the best thing since sliced bread, either. They still believed in the Republican ideas; I think they knew Nixon was a bad apple and they were ashamed of *him*, but they still didn’t see how morally bankrupt the GOP ideas really are.

@SmartKat My parents brought the wrong baby home too. That sure would explain a lot of stuff.

People break my heart with how much they try to adjust to things when they shouldn't have to .
You know?

Gives me the "wrong baby" blues but helps me stay humble, really does!

Thank you for an awesome insightful response to this "faithful dog" post. I wonder what Trump might have said to his mother in some such vulnerable moment?

But why did I have to "heart' my own post?
