2007: 馃嚝馃嚠 Finland 2 - 0 Belgium 馃嚙馃嚜 [I Love Real Football]
Someone might have spotted that the Finnish football fans in the stands are really fond of Owls.

For those that don't know why... in 2007 Finland and Belgium were in the same Qualification group for the Europeancup of 2008 [i](held in Austria and Switzerland)[/i]. In their home game in Helsinki the Finnish team won by 2-0. Ending 4th place and 3 points short of qualification.
28 points - Poland
27 points - Portugal
24 points - Serbia
24 points - Finland
18 points - Belgium
10 points - Kazakhstan
9 points - Armenia
5 points - Azerbaijan
Which was one of the better preformances of the Finnish team even though they didn't qualify. The win against Belgium got a bit of a superstitious aspect. Because during the game, an owl visited the game. First sitting on the pitch and then flying low over the heads of the players only to sit on the goalpost that the Belgians were defending.

The game was stopped and the entire ordeal took about 7 minutes, but the Finnish team won the game with 2 goals to 0. The Owl [i](nicknamed "Bubo Bubo")[/i] apperently lived in one of the lightposts of the Helsinki stadium. And the Finnish supporters have taken the owl as their symbol for good luck.
