I Hate Dentists

So I spent about £20 at the dentists today for them to say 'you have a minor infection, we will give you a temporary filling, go home, take soon painkillers and come back next week'. No shit, I've been saying I've got a tooth infection for days.

A. Why not just give me a filling today?

B. If painkillers helped infections there wouldn't be a need for anti-biotics (and also, it would have gone by now as I'm currently swallowing painkillers like they're smarties), so why not give me something for that?

I swear they do this shit so we have to pay them extra.

@Babylon: I think maybe a lot of people don't like it as they would rather spend money on more luxurious items such as holidays and the latest technology than spend it on admitting how fragile (and in my case, relatively broken) their body is.

well they are hoping the temporary filling will block off any gaps that might exacerbate the infection, that's basically the only response i got.
