I Am Disabled

You don't know what mental anguish is until you have your health taken away from you. If you can walk, then consider yourself extremely lucky. Realize that you have so much. Don't waste it. To have the ability to go to the beach to smell the air, go for a hike in the mountains, have a drink with friends. I have none of this. Be greatful for what you have. I know everyone has their story. I have been there too, prior to my accident. But now I see that you must value every second and live life without any compromises. Break free! You honestly don't know the gift you have, to be physically able. I have not been able to walk for 2yrs...and there are a lot of people who are a lot worse off than me. I am working on recovery. Others don't have this ability at all.

Been in an accident?
Hutchman · 41-45, M
Yeah. I fell, then got f'd up by a physical therapist doing a joint adjustment

What do doctors say?
Hutchman · 41-45, M
Doctors are idiots for the most part. They don't know what is wrong. But I have largely given up on them and now focus on physiotherapy

What I meant to ask is...what exactly has happened to your knee( I assume)
Hutchman · 41-45, M
No its low back. Seems to be a pinched nerve type thing. Twisted it by falling. Then a therapist tried to fix it but totally f* it up. There's been a bunch of things added on top in the meantime. And now trying to dig out of a deep hole.

Lumbar region of the spine?
Hutchman · 41-45, M
Yes

L4?
Hutchman · 41-45, M
Somewhere around S1 S2

Correct me if I am wrong. You had hurt yourself, and there is inflammation in the area around it. That inflammation is pressing on a nerve?
Hutchman · 41-45, M
They don't know exactly what's going on. It may be a pinched nerve for some reason. But the cause is unknown... Or it might not be a pinched nerve. Its just the most likely hypothesis. Not for sure

Did you get a MRI done?
Hutchman · 41-45, M
Yes, plenty of MRI, CATs, injections etc etc
Unlearn · 41-45, M
Steroid injections are for acute pain...but what does the MRI indicate?
Hutchman · 41-45, M
Nothing
Unlearn · 41-45, M
If we don't know the problem, how can we attempt to solve it? How many docs have you consulted?
Unlearn · 41-45, M
Is the pain still there?
Hutchman · 41-45, M
Yup, my thoughts exactly. But we're not looking for a cause anymore. Just trying to rehabilitate now. My full story is in my posts a week ago if you want to read it

@Hutchman: If the exact area of hurt and the inflammation is identified, there is an option of laser treatment. It is quite effective...
Hutchman · 41-45, M
Thanks for your help. I have tried cold laser with no real results. It doesn't seem to be inflammation. I was in a car accident 15yrs ago which is the basis for all of this. Thanks so much for caring! ☺
