I Have An Update

This is an update story to my “how do you pick up the pieces” question posted earlier

So me and my wife went back over to her burned out house on a salvage expadition basically to see if any of the kids clothes and or toys had survived the fire ,well the first tho g she wanted to do was move some of thier yard toys from the backyard so that’s what I did and as I moved one of them I unknowingly disturbed a wasp nest and got stung under my right eye
it hurt pretty bad of course at first but didn’t really swell too much at first so I put some ice on it and went back to work , we found some dvds , clothes & a few books and toys of thiers and thier bikes from the shed then after a few hours of toughing out the pain of the sting my wife said oh my gosh your eye is almost swelled shut you better take care of that it looks really bad , so she had some friends that had come over to help there with her so I left to care for my eye which was throbbing with pain the whole time but by the time I got home the whole right side of my faces had swelled up so I’ve been putting medacine on it for awhile and it looks a little better now, anyway we’re gonna try again tomorrow to get some stuff out of the shed and I think that’s pretty much it.
Me and my wife had a few pretty emotional moments while rummaging through the house thinking about old memories and such but we pushed on together and did what we had to do, but she knew I was there for her to help in whatever way I could.
She has her church a lot of friends who have been helping out by donating food , clothes and money and I got my church involved to so I think there gonna be ok as far as that stuff goes but as far as the emotional trauma that’s gonna take some time but my kids are tough so I think they’ll be alright too sooner or later. I’m just glad they were smart enough to get out as quick as they did. Leaving the house and thier animals was of course a very emotional moment for all of us but we’ll get through this together as a family and be stronger for it in the long run.
As the old saying goes what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger , right.

That was very kind of you to help them and work together. Sounds like you have a lot of help from friends and slowly things will get better. Thank god she and the girls have her grandmothers house. As for your eye...how is that today?

@Keepitsimple yea that was just about an hour after the sting but it got a little worse than that my whole cheek was swelled up , when he stung me he was stuck to my face for a few seconds so he pumped a lot of poison in there apparently , I’ve never had such a bad reaction from any sting before.

My heart goes out you and your family...it would be a heartbreaking task to go back to the scene of the fire and try and salvage what you can!!😢😦

Sounds like you had a nasty reaction to the wasp sting...very painful!!😖

You and your family are getting through this together and it will strengthen your love even more!!🤗

@faith2hope4love thank you for the empathy and sympathy I was pretty rough on me emotionally and of course for my wife I broke down a few times thinking about the memories I had in that house and seeing all the kids stuff that they got over the years for Christmas and birthdays etc... just ruined and burned , melted and blackened by the smoke and the water damage it’s was awful and horrible.
