I Am Flooded With Memories, Memories, Memories

When I was in elementary school I was microwaving one of those hotpockets for breakfast. I bit into it not thinking and if you've ever had one the insides are always molten lava. I burnt the hell out of my mouth, cried and my parents let me stay home from school. To this day my brother likes to give me shit for that. I'm sorry but it really hurt.

@Addictedtoglamour draw backs of kids left to raise their selves
there were alot of things went on back then this generation might not have survived
They have everything yet still want to kill themselves ,
have every advantage but yet are afraid to go outside
Social media but no social skills
Think they know everything ,but take that phone or tablet from them
We had it tough ,but we are survivors
I would as hard as it was not trade my world for yours
I can kill my own food and cook it without match's ,pots and pans optional
And I have been cooking since I was 7
Meals prepared so well ,my Dad thought Mom cooked them
Mom was never there ,but I am thankful to this day for her step by step instructions ,I can cook
But the good memories I have as a family ,they are treasures
They were few and far between

@rckt148 I kind of wish sometimes that I got shown how to do things such as cooking and laundry. Never learned how to do laundry until I went to college. Still cant cook I cant imagine trying to kill my own food. I'm so used to maids taking care of everything or someone else doing for me. Growing up pampered leaves you with a lot of catch up to do while others are far ahead of you.

@Addictedtoglamour my Grandparents on my Dads side had servants
Dad was not into the family money thing ,nor was I later on
We had servants when I was small ,
Dad worked at the space center ,my family built our town
It was not lack of money that made my life hard
It was my Mom was a cheater ,who supported other men on Dads money
When I got older and found a few of them laying up in homes that looked like we lived there ,well needless to say those men went for 2 am rides and they moved pretty soon after
But Dad preferred to be ignorant ,
But after my bother was scalded almost to death at 18 months old
I made a deal with Mom
Don't leave us with anymore people who abuse us ,and I'll show you I can fool Dad ,,so that was that ,I became Mom and Dad to my Brothers
We hardly seen them until Dad broke his back ,,but I was in service then ,
I was 17 when Mom had to come up with new excuses ,I was gone ,Dad was home ,and she was good at what she did ,Dad must not have minded
I left home at 13 ,almost 14
Was married myself at 16 ,off to the service at 17
My wife and I set off for Miami ,in the days it was rough ,
2 kids ready to prove to the world we were ready ,and we were
She was raised up country on a farm ,,she was a good cook ,I was a good provider
Our only drawback was ,neither of us told our Moms we did not need their meddling
Her Mom did not quit until we were divorced ,,,
But now we are all close again
my Mom and Dad have passed ,,so has her Dad ,and her Mom refers to all that as the "years she lacked wisdom" ,now she wish's she hadn't meddled
"She has not had a son in law as good as I was since " her words
