I Have An Idea
I have an idea for website's 'terms of use'/'terms of service'/'user agreements':
You know how long they are and what a pain they are to read?
What if...
They had just one standard user agreement for all websites, that they all used, rather than making individual, customised ones for separate websites.
I'd think that one huge user agreement, covering the bulk of legal safety net, could be made in conjunction with an act of parliament or the passing of a law, to which all or many websites could refer to in the sign-up process, etc.
If there are extra details that need to be covered, they can add a few additional terms.
That way, I'd think it would make it easier for people to sign up at or use websites. Instead of having multiple, non-identical user agreements with details that can seem kind of shady, confusing or uncertain, they could read one single user agreement and remember that, if they used it before, and read through it once, that it would be safe to not have to read it again (unless perhaps it were updated).
If there were other details that needed to be covered concerning the particular nature of a website, it could mean LESS to read overall... to sign up and start using a site.
You think this is a good idea?! 😀
