I Am Very Sad

A few hours ago, I found out one of my friends had taken his own life. I would give anything to talk him out of it. I’d give anything to have him back right now. In full honesty, None of us knew he was depressed. Coming from someone with depression, I know how it feels to be that deep in despair. I miss him SO SO much. I lit a candle with my friends & we just had an hour of silence for him. I wrote a song about him & all he’s added to our lives.

I lost a dear friend to suicide too. No one can talk them out of it if they really want to go and they don't broadcast it when they are suicidal. MANY people your age come in here talking about being suicidal and I just can't take them seriously because they go on and on about it. It almost always comes as a surprise when a loved one or friend takes their own life.

I am so sorry for your loss. We all think maybe we should know when someone we love is struggling but the truth is many people can hide their depression successfully.

😢 It is a very sad thing , worst part being how to explain to people how the mind works when depression sets in and what causes it , when we struggle with trying to work it out ourselves , so sorry or your loss.
