I Am Doing My Best
I understand I have an accent and I try my best to be clear. Please do not speak down to me. Please do not treat me like I am stupid. Please do not make me repeat myself just to laugh at me. I know you heard me and understood, I am not a performing monkey to do it again and again for you. I am always happy to try again if you need me to. I do not mind to try it again when there is genuine confusion.
This has happened to me many times and I sometimes do not want to try anymore. My writing great, my reading great, my conversation great,my grammar I do my best, my pronunciation is where I still need much more work. I have learned the language for a long time now and consider myself fluent. I learned a trick long ago when I first began to learn to try to put your thoughts into english first; and not that original language first then translate over.
Some of it might be my fault. When I am in public or working I use one language but at home speak another. Maybe this is where I have gone wrong for this long. Everyone I live with can speak both languages but I have a lot of family that cannot. I cannot completely give up one for the other.
