Go to google.com and search "first year latin course". It's kinda boring, but if you wade through it you will know a helluva lot more than most people. You will get into some stories that have fascinated people for thousands of years, and your writings will be a LOT classier. Judges and biologists and historians have to study Latin, so you will be right up there with the brightest of the bright.
