I Love "American Psycho"
First saw it when I was 16. After watching it again a few years later, I found it to be one of my favorites. Christian Bale nailed Pat Bateman down in this movie. At times, I felt he was a bit more than genuine in his role. I don't think any other human being on the planet could have described Phil Collins and Genesis as well (Favorites of mine.)
Didn't know the film was based off a book. I eventually read the book and was taken away by how much more graphic it was. Torture scenes were lengthy. Women maced, nail guns shooting into their breasts, organs mutilated, etc. Bret Easton Ellis portrays Pat Bateman in first person for the most part. Put an insane an amount of detail into clothing brands and furniture descriptions. You'd get lost in underneath just how much is put into it. Just like the movie, you'd find yourself laughing your ass off at the most gruesome parts.
If you have seen the film, but haven't read the book, do it. You will NOT be disappointed.
