I Think Christmas Is a Really Sad Time For a Lot of People

I have no immediate family, no family nearby, many of my friends have died, and holidays can be hard. Also, due to my unhappy background, I have very few good holiday memories. My mother made a point of ruining my Christmas holidays for reasons I may post a story about one of these days.

Sorry you're alone for Christmas, clampsin. I understand and you are right; for a lot of people, Christmas is a sad time.

I hear you. I've been homeless last Christmas. Pretty sad. But I learned something. I had to overcome that sorrow and that sense of hopelessness. Achieving is all about perspective. Though, I may have been viewed as a loser for being homeless, but that sad experience is what made me more grateful, wiser, and stronger. This season doesn't have to be so sad. I came to realize that it was me who was the culprit for my sadness. I manifested that sadness without conscious effort until I figured out that I had to shift my perspective in order to rise.

I usually spend christmas morning at McDonalds these days as it's the only place open and they have a tree with decorations and music. There's usually nobody there but I can talk to the staff. I miss family christmas's.
