I Want to Know What Books You Are Reading

I'm about to read "The Shack" By, WM. Paul Young.

The movie that is based on this book is in theaters now and I just went to see it the other night.

Normally I would prefer reading the book before it becomes a movie, but being the goof that I am, I didn't even realize that when I saw this movie I already had the book and hadn't even read it yet.

I totally forgot that I had this book, when I saw that it was in theaters and saw the previews, while watching the movie I kept thinking to myself that it was a little familiar to me. When I got home from the theater that night, I went to my book collection and found it. Its been sitting on my bookshelf for months, I completely forgot that I had it. A friend of mine lent it to me last summer because he said it would be something he thought that I would like.

The movie was good, but now I wish I had read the book first. However, another friend of mine told me that she also has the book and read it, saw the movie too but said that the movie left out a lot of what's actually in the book.

Often times I find that once a movie is made based on a book the movie doesn't always do the book justice. The movie was good but, I'm anticipating the book more I think.

If anyone has read this book or seen this movie would you care to share your thoughts?

One of the books I read after my son passed. It was a horrible story but what happened in his dream when he went to the Shack I thought was pretty healing.

Why did you go see the movie?
I went to see the movie because my date and I wanted to go to the theater and when we do, we check out the trailers to all that's playing and it looked good, when we went to see it, I didn't realize I already had the book until I got home that night.

@MamaButterfly: what did you think about it?
@Justpeaceandlove: It was okay, but was expecting a bit more enlightenment from how the trailer made it seem. I'm thinking I will get more from the book.

@MamaButterfly: I like reading the books more than watching movies.

Enlightenment is different for everyone I think. I didnt feel enlightened at all after reading it. But it did help me to not feel like I was the only one who ever lose a child.
@Justpeaceandlove: Honestly I cannot imagine what it must be like to have lost a child, and I am so sorry for your loss. I have no idea how that must have been for you, being a mom to 4, I cannot even bare the thought of it. I am glad though that you found a sort of healing from it. My heart goes out to you in that respect.

Thank you! :) Can't be explained. I can't speak for others but for me to heal is to talk about him and have support you know. @MamaButterfly:
@Justpeaceandlove: I tried to message you, but I think you have settings where I can't. If you would like to talk, please feel free to message me, I'm available. I understand what you mean when you say it cannot be explained, not because I understand because I don't. I only say I don't because I haven't experienced the loss, but being a mother, I can in a sense. I guess what I mean is that, I would never tell someone else I understand their pain of I have never gone through it myself but I understand because I too have suffered loss but not as big as yours. I have heard people say there is no greater loss than the loss of a child. That alone is a hard enough thought to try and bare, let alone even having to experience it I'm sure is greater.
