They didn’t have a ‘I’m not quite like marmite’ group
The Music that Nobody Likes
It’s not quite beautiful darkness
And it lulls between anger and love
It’s not even the sound of the hopeless
As it seeks with the spite of a shove
Maybe it leaves a bad taste on your tongue
Or pains your bones with unease by the time that it’s done
The tune seems the same but with words on the run
Open your heart whilst I load my gun
I warned you, it’s not for the people
These words that needed a cage
It’s a nonsense and your mind must be fearful
As this river rushes and smudges the page
As I offer my blood on a crisp winter’s day
Will you yearn for will descend in my uncertain haze
And soon grow to love the pretty edge of my blade
Come let’s taste the colour that runs from your veins
Do you think we might call it music
The sound of the fight in my head
Maybe you’ll dance like you like it
