I Am a Born Again Christian

Baptist churches are generally a very close knit community. Our pastor knows the pastor from the Texas shooting and several sisters from church have done women's meetings with sisters from the church as well. It was hard to see our pastor cry because he's generally such a strong man. But by the end of service we were all a big mess.

I hope the shooter was saved and backslid. It's hard to think of him in hell.

The shooter has no relation to the church itself, and you must ask the question: would a saved person born again in Christ go and shoot up a Baptist church? No.
God does not throw people to hell. People choose the alternative, disbelief, than to believe in Him. People put themselves into hell.

So, I wished that guy gets what he deserves by our maker, whether that is hell or the wrong side of heaven. It's not for me (or anyone else) to say which.

@SW-User that well said,i was looking for the right thing to say,
@SW-User A person in their right mind whom is saved isn't going to shoot up a place, church or otherwise. There are saved prior with mental issues, tho, and that can have an effect on their behavior and decisions. He could have been saved but have had mental problems.

I just hope we can heal quickly and forgive him.

Well, yes, but Jesus is not just an ideal. Jesus is ALIVE. And is the one that healed the sick, possesed, and preformed miracles. He still does in our own lives because He puts Himself in the middle of our affairs.

When you become a Christian you are unknowingly becoming more like Christ, no matter who you are and what ails you, you make decisions and actions, which are more Christ-like. Granted, you will be flawed in that decision making, but the point is:

Once you're a Christian, your life isn't your own. You live for Jesus and what He has planned for you.

All that said, in the report:

The gunman had a history of domestic abuse against his wife and child.
He was dishonorably discharged from the Air Force.
Had no connection to the church.
And that this was premeditated in the way of him being prepared to shoot up the place (wearing tactical armor and driving 35 miles from his home to the church)

That's alot of time passing by for any sensable conscience and the holy spirit to urge him away from that evil thinking that's if he was even saved.

But, it's over. He's passed. We can forgive him, but by our creator, saved or not, he will have to take account for this.

Yes baptists have a close kinship found in common belief. The murderers are senseless and so needless. My prayers are with those left behind.
It can be such a small world with ties that pull on everyone. I am sorry that your church was personally struck by extreme grief.

I hope so too,
