I Am a Leo-virgo Cusp Which Is Very Contradictory
Hate tell you this, but being on the cusp doesn't mean what most people think. Depending on your date and time of birth you are either one sign or another. You may be 29 degrees of Leo or Zero degrees of Virgo.
The problem that most people have is that they think that the Sun sign is everything. The whole chart has to be considered in understanding what the person is like. Judging a person just by the Sun sign is like saying you know what a person is like because they come from New York.
In a chart, the Sun has to do with the ego, the characteristics that drive the person. We sometimes say it's what they want to grow up to be.
The Moon has to do with emotions and women in general, among other things.
The time of day you are born (and the place) will give you the ascendant or rising sign. Which is how you package yourself, how you appear to others.
Mercury is about how you think and communicate. Venus and Mars are the male and female energies along with values and social urges for Venus and how and where you expend your energies for Mars.
Jupiter shows areas of expansion and growth and Saturn deals with responsibility and limitations.
Those are just the personal planets. There are still Uranus, Neptune and Pluto which are energies that apply to generations because of their slow movement.
All of these go in a chart that is divided into 12 houses that have to do with different areas of you life. Then there are aspects between the planets that indicate how the energies are handled. It's also the reason some people say, "well that doesn't sound like me". They may have a Leo Sun but the Moon and Ascendant could be in Pisces. Which would give them a gentler, more compassionate persona than the flamboyant Leo.
All of this is why you can't pick up a magazine, newspaper or even an online horoscope and read what it says about your sign and have it mean anything. I consider myself very fortunate if one of them is even close to what is going on in my life, one time a year.
You are you and you are unique. No one has your chart, unless they are born at the same time and at the same place as you are. Even twins charts can be different. All it takes is about 6 minutes to change one degree on the chart.
