I Love Getting Muddy

Shopping...
One Saturday, Sally was acting kind of odd. We had agreed to go into the town to do some shopping. Having laid in a bit and were going to be well behind schedule. Sally shot out of bed, dived into her clothes, which were strewn on the floor from last night, ran down the stairs and there was a bang of the door closing. As she went there was a yell that she was going into town and would meet me back home. All I saw from then was a figure dashing down the road to the bus stop with her hair flying.
I had of course things to do of my own in town so an hour later I was on the next bus. Considering it was October the weather was bright, but there was a bit of a chill in the air. We tended to use the bus into town as there was only limited parking, which was very expensive. By diner time, it was chucking it down with rain. As normal, I had made no provision for the rain when I left home and only had a thin jacket on. Hence, I had lunch in a café and a look round some bookshops in the afternoon. The rain eased later on and I started to make my way to the bus station. However, as I went up the main street the storm really broke. The rain was really coming down in stair rods. With all the people jamming onto the bit of pavement under the bus shelters, and any other dry spots, my progress could only be slow. By trying to nip from one place of shelter to another, progress was even slower. The rain never stopped and many of the drains were blocked. Water was running down the street like a river. I ended up stopped in a doorway, as the fall of rain just became beyond belief.
Then up the street came a young lady. At first, I did not know who it was. She was walking in the side of the road, ignoring all shelter and hence avoiding all the crowds of people. What made her remarkable to me was her clothing. She was wearing a shiny PVC Mac with a raised hood and a pair of matching dark blue PVC wellies. The coat came just below her knee and overlapped the top of the boots. Water was running down her like a waterfall and being in the side of the road, the surge of water in the gutter was well above ankle height. Some cars were still driving along and their headlights reflected from her wet and shiny outline. As they passed, the cars also sent up sheets of water from their wheels, but she did not attempt to avoid these. Indeed, she seemed almost to invite them as she slowly made her way up the street. At times, she deliberately splashed in the puddles. I was transfixed.
As the girl approached, I realised that I knew her. It was Sally. As the time to get the bus home was getting close, I fell in beside Sally and we both walked together. As we walked and talked, Sally was laughing. Such was my state of mind that I didn't notice that I was soaked to the skin. We sat side by side on the bus and when she sat down the skirt of her coat overlapped my leg. I laid my hand on it and the smooth finish with the water standing on it just felt great to me. At the other end of the journey, the rain had slowed as we walked and talked up the half-mile road home. My arm was round her all the way feeling that glorious texture.
It turned out that she had ordered the coat and boots from a local shop that I had never heard of and it was to be a surprise for me. Surprise it was. When it started to rain she put them on as it was the practical thing to do.
When we got in, I pushed her straight up the stairs, threw her onto the bed and I leave the rest to your imagination.

I thought while reading that you were goingto say that all she had on was her plastic mac and wellies with nothing underneath? Got me quite excited! I'm sure the rain was nice and warm?
