I Like Zombie Movies
Well not just zombie movies. I like apocalyptic movies, I am not sure exactly why. I just do. I guess it is the idea of survival of the fittest of things becoming terribly simple.
I have a somewhat arrogant idea that I would do well. That I would live and fight to survive. That I somehow would be better than the next guy. Maybe I am weird, maybe I just want to be a hero.
The reality is harsher meaner, angrier. In reality I would be the one walking away from the helpless and the dying and leaving them to their fate. Because in a world where food is scarce and the strong survive and there isn't enough you lose with a big heart. You lose with any heart. You survive by staying light, moving fast, and keeping a low profile.
I have lain awake idly wondering what I would pack first and where I would go to survive the initial panic. Surviving that initial rush comes down to either knowing before other people and acting accordingly or being extraordinarily lucky.
This is why you should follow the news. And not because I think there is going to be a zombie apocalypse. But because there might be war, or natural disaster, or a geopolitical failure. I don't rave about the end of the world. I don't expect it to happen. I just try to remain alert enough, that if it did happen. And it has before many times. I am a survivor.
