Yeah it does seem kinda old fashioned, but then you just have to disprove the stereotypes about the name. Be anything but old-fashioned ;)

You can always change your name. But I think Irene is very lovely. It is melodious and romantic and a little old fashioned. Very appealing. But if you really hate it...change it.
