I Have Strict Parents

I caught myself saying to someone that I love my parents even though they are strict with me and she told me it's better to have strict parents than parents who don't care what you do. That's real wisdom. I'm glad my parents don't just let me do what I like. I know girls whose parents let them do allsorts of things but the girls never seem really happy . Perhaps I should say that I love my parents because they're strict with me

They're your parents, not your friends. They love you, but they also provide guidance and discipline. They will maintain rules and standards for your own good. This allows you to thrive and be happy, even though I'm sure you don't like the discipline and the punishments. Be thankful for the good and proper way in which they're raising you! Sadly, it's not too common these days.

It is better for your parents to be parents and not your buddy. It is their job to mold you into the person you will be. Sounds like they have a handle on it.
