I Hate Meetings

Yes. Sometimes I do. Just got out of a 2hr meeting with a client. They wanted our suggestions on how they can change or relax some of their guidelines to streamline the process...maybe make things more productive for everyone. But none of our suggestions will even being considered. Why waste everyone's time?!? I counted all the people and did some math...this was a $3000+ meeting.

Meetings - the collective intelligence of individual ignorance.

hi Ellen
The client pays and the client is always right. What do you care?
Perhaps there is some element of having gone through the motions on their part?
Best wishes

hi Orca4950
yes it is absurd. I attended a course which spent a day making a decision and I short circuited it so we had nothing to do. Job done is the point!
Best wishes

@sogdianrock Good for you if the instructor lead the course in the right direction after that.

hi Orca4950
He came in the room to asked how we were getting on and the group leader said we have finished and he was amazed. She explained at an early stage I had simply given numerical values to decisions as we made them collectively and then added them up so we did not then need to discuss them all again at the end. He invited me to see him after to explain but I left feeling a bit embarrassed.
Best wishes

I really hate long meetings where nothing gets decided and no actions are assigned.

Meetings...where minutes are kept and hours lost.
