I Stand Up For What Is Right

I stand up for what’s right rather I get in trouble for it or not. When I see something doing down, I do something about it. Case in point, I was walking through the streets & noticed a group of punks beating on a homeless man. There may have been more of them than me but, I have ways of getting my point across. I went up to them, telling them to back off & leave the guy alone. At first they made fun of me but, than I went straight up one of them, eye to eye & in a firm voice told them I’ll break them in two, just try me. Honestly, I had a blade in my back pocket that I WILL use if I have to. Anyway, I saw his eyes look down & all three of them backed up & ran like cowards. I yelled down the street that I better not see them again. After making sure they were gone, I healed down to the homeless guy & asked if he was ok. He looked at me like I had three heads. I saw that his arm was bleeding a bit & took out my water & tissues, told him to lay it there gently. It took a minute of silence before he thanked me. I said it was nothing. Told him to wait there for one minute & bought him a bottle of water. We got to talking cause he was fascinated with my iPad that was in my bag. I let him play a few games on it for a while, etc. after it got late, I told him that if he ever needs anything, don’t hesitate to come to me cause I live a block away. Now, it’s my daily routine of bringing him fresh fruit, etc before I go to work & if I can, we just sit there & chat. I feel like many people are wrong about the homeless population. They are NOT all alcoholics or drug users & it’s terrible that some people assume that. Yes, there’s always a bad apple but, that doesn’t mean everyone is. I know what it’s like to be on the street, not knowing when or what your next meal is so, I can empathize with him on that. Anyway, that was my experience.
