I Believe In Spirit Guides

Spirit guides. I first heard about this concept about 3 or 4 years ago. The last couple of years, as I dug deeper on the subject, I'll realize this as a very real thing personally. That's what got me to my first issue, communication. Our guides belong to the etheric realm, the astral plane, 4th dimension whatever you want to call it. So, communication for someone who hasn't developed psychic/telepathic abilities doesn't come easy. What I did to solve this issue, was asking to my spirit guides in my mind (I felt like I was going nuts when I first did it but now it has become second nature) if they could show me they were here to help me and had my best interests at heart (for safety reasons) and if they could show me a way to make our contact a two way street. Then the synchronicity began, I started seeing series of two, three to four equal numbers everywhere. Instantaneously, this rang a bell in my head and I look up for the meaning of these numbers. To my surprise I noticed that the meaning of each, related exactly to a specific moment I was going through and they always come with just the kind of information I needed at the time. Even though this was a huge step and I'm still grateful that this happened, it became old very soon. Since the number sequences became obsolete, I've been trying to find a way to make our connections more straightforward. Occasionally, I would say I hear them in my mind, but to be honest, it's very difficult to say if it's really them or I'm making all of this up, because it feels just as if I were thinking the message. There's always been some doubt in there, what keeps me trusting is that once I ''receive a message'' I feel it comes from a superior kind of wisdom, plus, the thought of ''wow, I would've never thought of that'' assaults me right after. This is where I find myself right now, I wish more people knew about this, even better to believe in this, maybe have some experiences to share, for I'm hungry for answers right now and I have a lot of questions cooking.

If any of you have some wisdom to share on the matter, go ahead. I'm still trying to figure new ways of more straightforward communication between me and my spirit guides. I keep expecting the aha moment where I say, OK either this is completely real or I successfully have become a schizo (half joking xD). This would make things easier, not only on my day to day life but it would greatly impact my spiritual progress, which has been very uncertain and unsettled, considering that where I live it's not the best place to find a master/guru or any person with a sort of eastern/non restricted spiritual philosophy.
