I Love Skating Dresses
I have just had a once in a blue moon opportunity... And am so glad to have taken advantage of it! I was browsing the dress rack at a local thrift shop a couple days ago when I discovered this sky-blue skating dress! Unfortunately at the time I hadn't money to get it... I was just in there because I had some extra time and wanted to see what they had. But when I went back yesterday I was happy to find it was still there! I immediately bought it, filled with nervous excitement.
I put it on almost immediately once I got in my car... Since it was evening I felt pretty comfortable driving around while wearing it. It was weird having only such a thin garment between me and the seatbelt- especially with my shoulders almost bare (it's got a wide neckline).
It is a wonder to wear. It is plain (no sparkles or interesting designs- probably just a practice dress), blue in color (my favorite color!), with a scoop neckline front and back, and a skirt that falls to just above my knees. Although it is one size too small for me, it's not by much and feels perfect anyways, although the sleeves which I expect are supposed to be full length are now 3/4 length, and the dress's front scoop-cut neckline is slightly lower than the designer's intentions probably expected it to be. The knee-length skirt is light, and moves and falls just perfectly around my legs, walking or running. And since it stretches, the material is nicely smooth across my body. And it hugs me so nicely... I can't stop thinking about wearing it now... Unfortunately because it has a skirt it's impossible to wear just under my normal clothes.
I can't wait until I have the house to myself for at least the whole day so I can wear it for a long while without fear of being discovered. I'm glad I was able to find and buy it! This will be a permanent addition to my -hidden- (since this is a private me-only relax-wear thing) wardrobe... actually it's the start of it! Hope to get more of these and other dresses in the near future.
