I Hate How Time Flies

When did mom get so old? She looks frail now. She used to be so strong and resolute that I did not believe she would ever grow old.

When did the boy grow such long legs and such a deep voice? The last time I heard him he was still a wide-eyed boy exclaiming to me in his squeaky voice when he saw all my Teachers' Day presents.

Am I in some dream I will wake from? Or am I just delirious from lack of sleep? I don't know.

One of the facts that makes us realise more strongly the passing of time are changes in the physical appearance or health of those we love.

Like you, I see both my mother and especially my father more frail, and it makes me realise how fast years are passing, with more intensity than my fast approaching to the day the first number of my age will turn into a 5.
