I Love My Ipod

42 Not 24 ....revisiting Some Older Stuff On My Ipod... I'm coming up on an anniversary of sorts. I find myself thinking about what was going on this time last year. I really don't want to think about it. The past is just that but I came across this song. My daughter put a playlist together for me a long time ago and this song was first on the list. I'd put the headphones in and stretch and it would always get me out to the track on a positive note. I would think about how I had overcome the "terrible awful" I had done and how Christ's love renews us day by day. I had my own experience to draw upon. Even though things weren't perfect, I could count on my heavenly Father to take care of me no matter the sin. After all, I can relate to the notion that there isn't a single thing one of my kids could do that would make me love them any less. God feels the same way about us.

I'm 42 not 24. no matter what age, life tends to drop an event on us that changes us forever. For me it changed who I was in 24 hours. I was broken, turned to Christ and became a different person. Each day brings a new challenge, I'm not exactly the person I should be. I might be the child that doesn't listen, but my Father still loves me.

This song, for me, is about that renewal. That event that changes who we are in a matter of a day. Take away the old and become the new the second man.

Twenty-four oceans, twenty-four skies
Twenty-four failures and twenty-four tries
Twenty-four finds me in twenty-fourth place
With twenty-four drop outs at the end of the day
Life is not what I thought it was twenty-four hours ago
Still I'm singing 'Spirit, take me up in arms with You
'And I'm not who I thought I was twenty-four hours ago
Still I'm singing 'Spirit, take me up in arms with You'
There's twenty-four reasons to admit that I'm wrong
With all my excuses still twenty-four strong
See, I'm not copping out
Not copping out, not copping out
When you're raising the dead in me
Oh, oh, I am the second man
Oh, oh, I am the second man now
Oh, I am the second man nowAnd you're raising these
Twenty-four voices with twenty-four hearts
All of my symphonies in twenty-four parts
But I want to be one today centered and true
I'm singing 'Spirit take me up in arms with You
'You're raising the dead in me
Oh, oh, I am the second man
Oh, oh, I am the second man now
Oh, I am the second man now
And you're raising the dead in me, yeah, yeah
I wanna see miracles to see the world change
Wrestled the angel for more than a name
For more than a feeling, for more than a cause
I'm singing 'Spirit, take me up in arms with You
'And you're raising the dead in me
Twenty-four oceans with twenty-four hearts(Oh, oh, I am the second man)
(Oh, oh, I am the second man)All of my symphonies with twenty-four parts
(Oh, oh, I am the second man now)(And you're raising the dead in me)
Life is not what I thought it was twenty-four hours ago(Oh, oh, I am the second man)
(Oh, oh, I am the second man)Still I'm singing 'Spirit, take me up in arms with You
'(Oh, oh, I am the second man now)(And you're raising the dead in me)
I'm not copping out(Oh, oh, I am the second man)
Not copping out(Oh, oh, I am the second man)
Not, not copping out(Oh, oh, I am the second man)
