I Have Something to Say and I Want to Be Heard

Hey listen guys. I know many of you will shrug this off and I understand. I am a normal user here and well I’m too embarrassed to even have this on my regular account here. I’m embarrassed and I’m ashamed that I have to ask this.

Currently I am struggling to keep myself in school and I need money to buy some school supplies. I don’t want to ask my parents and be a burden on them and I would rather save the shame of having to ask them for money. I’m not asking for everyone to donate, I understand if you can’t or if you’re too skeptical then I don’t blame you. But everyone needs a helping hand and even if you donate a dollar it will honestly relieve so much stress.

Bless you guys and I’m sorry to bother any of you or trigger any of you. I just reached a new low. I can’t post the link but I hope I don’t get banned for this. I don’t know where else to share without people I know trying to judge me.

You can be ashamed, that's fine. Regardless of your age and situation, you should always speak to your parents. Your friends here are also excellent outlets for this help.

@Moosepantspatty I have to be. My parents do a lot for me and they work so I could go into school. The last thing I should do is pile more financial stress on them. I’ve never been the type to ask for things and I’m afraid of sharing this on my personal social media accounts. I will be crucified and I’m not even exaggerating that..

@AshamedUser what's the bigger threat? Asking for help, or dropping out so far into your degree?

@Moosepantspatty that’s the most pathetic part I’m attending a trade school. It was cheaper than community and I can’t drop out as long as I keep doing my work and attend class. At the end of the program I get hired at a site and I’ll at least get some money to my name and experience under my belt. I just need supplies at least until March. I know I wouldn’t get any donations from friends because while we socialize they all have this mentality that outside help is disgusting. It’s not that I don’t recognize which is the bigger threat but I know I would get shunned and ignored.

I didn’t know if I should try reddit or here but SW has always been a home to me and I love my friends here but I know I’ll get help any other place then my real life friends.

@AshamedUser there should be a service at your school like a resource center but they dont allow everyone into it. They help out with struggles students have and even help with textbookd. You should be able to ask a student leader or counselor about it.

@morrgin I currently attend a trade school. I finally managed to put the link on my profile but anyways; textbooks and uniform were already included in the tuition. However there’s a lot of work and notes; projects and I simply can’t keep up with. I don’t think we have a student leader or counselor here.

@EmilyEdith Yeah which is why I didn’t expect anyone to donate and I don’t want to come off like “you have to or else I die.” There’s a lot of scammers everywhere and I don’t blame anyone, it’s hard to be truthful. I don’t know where else to go seeing as how I’m the most comfortable on SW..
