I Love Scuba Diving

I learned to scuba dive long ago with a friend, we did around 50 dives and then stopped. Many years later I took up the sport again with another friend. This time we took an advanced diving course so we could get some training on night diving and deep dives.

I had a new Whites diving suit to test out. I had used one before, but it had been a lot of years. I got in the Water with my buddy and discovered I did not have enough weight on my belt to submerge, I did not have my ankle weights, so I swam to the shore and grabbed a couple of rocks to stuff in my pockets, and was then able to get under the water.

Down near the bottom I added a bit too much air to my BC and was having trouble venting from the sleeve, I started to float up too fast feet first and was unable to swim down to compensate while frantically trying to vent from the sleeve which was now too low.

I remembered the stories about burst lungs etc so began a constant exhale as I struggled to get my feet underneath me and I nearly succeeded, but by then I was already near the surface. Fortunately I was not down very deep this time. I came shooting out of the water like a rocket. No damage of any kind. I noticed the rocks that were in my pocket were gone.

Never use rocks in your pockets for weight, and remember your ankle weights with a dry suit.

We did 30 or so dives before stopping. Diving is a lot of fun but can get tedious if you dive the same places too often.

Have you ever done any cave diving
Yes, there were some caves in Hawaii, Not very deep obviously, we didn't bring or need ropes, but we could go inside a ways, and swim up, then breath inside it, it was one of those blow holes through the lava, pretty neat. Just watch you never touch the bottom or visibility goes to zero instantly. haha.

That is true. All the slit and sand that gets ficked up and you are toast. But this is a flew places that you can dive in old mines.
Is there anything to see in an old mine?
